Privacy policy

Merchinary is a field-sales iPhone app (bundle app.merchinary.field for App Store 1.0; Merchinary 2.0 is app.merchinary.field.dev). The shipping app is a native IPA bundled on the device. merchinary.app and Merchinary 2.0 require a signed-in account. Try Merchinary for FREE for 30 days — no credit card required for sign-up.

Payments

Lite is $9.99/month or $99.99/year and Pro is $19.99/month or $199.99/year (USD) after the trial, or sooner if you subscribe early. Annual billing saves 17%. Website subscriptions are billed by Stripe on merchinary.app. Merchinary 2.0 in-app subscriptions are billed by Apple (StoreKit) for the same Lite/Pro access. The iPhone app does not open Stripe Checkout to unlock that access.

What we collect

  • Account identifier. Your signed-in account id. merchinary.app and Merchinary 2.0 do not offer guest browsing.
  • Precise location, while the app is in use. Nearby stores on the map, the about-1-mile check-in geofence, and Start day → End day mileage. Location is not used for background always-on tracking. iOS may still show an Always / When In Use purpose string because the location SDK includes it; the app does not keep tracking after you leave.
  • Photos, camera, and library. Shelf and visit photos you take or pick from the library, plus notes, tags, and forms you submit.
  • Notes, forms, schedule, and Live. Visit notes and forms, schedule entries, work group membership, and Live feed likes and comments. On the iPhone app these rows stay on this device with your account.
  • Public share links. If you create a photo share link, anyone with the URL can view those photos until you revoke the link.
  • Optional mobile number. Optional mobile number, if you verify a phone or opt in to texts: used only to send the OTP or the alerts you consented to.

Who receives data

  • Google Maps / Places. Map views, nearby-store search, and directions requests send the location and map queries the app needs to Google while you use Places and routing. You can also open a store in Apple Maps.
  • Retailligence / xAI. Questions you send, and optional shelf photos you attach, go to xAI (Grok) so the app can generate display advice. Do not send photos you do not want processed for that purpose.
  • Twilio. Verification codes (OTP) are sent with Twilio Verify. Opted-in account or visit alerts are sent with Twilio Programmable SMS. Twilio is a processor that delivers the message to your wireless carrier.
  • Stripe. If you subscribe on merchinary.app after the trial (or early), Stripe receives the payment details needed to bill Lite or Pro. Apple does not bill website subscriptions.
  • Apple. If you subscribe inside Merchinary 2.0, Apple processes the in-app purchase. SMS is not an Apple in-app purchase.

How we use it

Location finds nearby stores, stamps check-ins, records miles from Start day to End day, and opens Google Maps or Apple Maps for routing. Photos and notes show store work on the Live team feed. Retailligence questions go to xAI (Grok) to generate an answer. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising. Website subscriptions are billed by Stripe; Merchinary 2.0 in-app subscriptions are billed by Apple. Share links you create are visible to anyone with the URL.

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Phone verification and SMS

Signed-in accounts may verify one mobile number with a one-time SMS passcode (OTP). Verification is for account security. Field features require an account.

Verification codes (OTP) are sent with Twilio Verify. Opted-in account or visit alerts are sent with Twilio Programmable SMS. Twilio is a processor that delivers the message to your wireless carrier.

Your mobile carrier delivers the text. Message and data rates may apply under your wireless plan. Delivery depends on your carrier and coverage. Frequency: verification codes as needed; opted-in account and visit alerts typically a few messages per week during active field work.

SMS is not an Apple in-app purchase. Apple does not send these texts and does not receive the message content. iPhone users still receive SMS through their carrier. Phone verification is for signed-in accounts.

Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel opted-in alert texts any time. STOP does not delete your account. Requesting a new verification code may send another OTP. Consent is never pre-checked.

Your choices

You can pin a map location if live GPS is unavailable; on-site check-in still needs a fix, or use Remote check-in when you are farther away. Stop mileage with End day. Delete photos from the Photos tab. Leave a work group in Live. Revoke share links you created. Deny camera, photos, or location in iOS Settings — nearby stores, check-in, and mileage will be limited.

Text messages

You may opt out of Merchinary text messages at any time, whenever you want, by:

  • Replying STOP to any Merchinary text
  • Turning off / withdrawing consent in Settings → Communications (when signed in)
  • Emailing hm915@hotmail.com

Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply until you have opted out.

Retention and deletion

Field data (visits, photos, notes, schedule, Live) stays with your account. On-device rows are deleted when you delete those items in the app, or when you delete the app from the iPhone. Account rows (profile, trial, and billing entitlement) live in our hosted database. Email hm915@hotmail.com to ask about an account record.

Share links you create on merchinary.app stay viewable until you revoke them. Share links created inside the iPhone app use that device’s local data. Questions and optional photos you send to Retailligence are processed by xAI to generate an answer; we do not control how long xAI or Google Maps retain their copies. Their privacy policies apply to those requests. Deny location, camera, or photos in iOS Settings to stop new collection.
